Milestone reached: Soltech Energy Solutions has installed battery parks exceeding 150 MWh
Over the past two years, Soltech’s subsidiary Soltech Energy Solutions has established itself as a leading company within large-scale energy storage and smart control. The company has now reached the milestone of over 150 MWh of installed battery capacity for its customers, which has generated a total project value of approximately SEK 700 million over the past two years and additional revenues of SEK 100 million going forward through operation and service agreements of the battery parks. This means that Soltech Energy Solutions is one of the largest companies in the large-scale energy storage segment in Sweden.
Sweden is facing a capacity shortage where electricity is not enough to meet the growing need, especially in the transport sector and in industrial transition. By storing surplus energy from renewable sources such as solar and wind, large-scale battery parks can release this energy when needed. This helps to balance demand and reduce the load on the electricity grid, helping to reduce energy costs and increase the reliability of the energy supply. Battery parks therefore play a crucial role in stabilizing the electricity grid and improving the efficiency of the energy system.
Over the past two years, Soltech Energy Solutions has aimed to install 150 MWh of battery parks for its customers. A milestone that has now been reached. The company has thereby consolidated its position as one of the market-leading players in large-scale battery parks in Sweden and the Nordic region.
– We are proud to have reached 150 MWh of installed capacity and for our growing market share. This is proof that we have built a brilliant team that in a short time has delivered large amounts of technically complex and large-scale energy storage projects. I am very proud that the battery team at Soltech Energy Solutions creates great value for our customers every day, says Christoffer Caesar, CEO of Soltech Energy Solutions.
Several tech solutions in combination
The battery projects are carried out for a number of different customers and, in addition to the batteries themselves, often include smart control, integration with various arbitrage and subsequent operation and maintenance. Customers are found in various industries, including transport and logistics companies, other solar energy companies, but often also municipal energy companies.
– Although we are now passing a milestone, we are aiming even higher. Our power system is facing a challenging transition that is increasing the demand for new technology, new services and commercial models, something that Svenska kraftnät also highlighted in its latest report. As an industry leader, we must therefore continue to revolutionize the energy landscape in collaboration with Huawei and other suppliers, facilitate the energy transition and stabilize the grid, concludes Christoffer Caesar.
