Wallenstam is constructing a multistorey colorful parking garage with Soltech Facade solar cells in a creative pattern
Soltech’s subsidiary Soltech Sales & Support AB has, via Bergman and Höök Byggnads AB, been entrusted with delivering semi-transparent solar cells in four different colors to the parking garage ”Mölnlycke fabriker” with end customer Wallenstam. The order value is approximately SEK 7 million and delivery is during the spring of 2021.
”Mölnlycke factories” new car parks will attract a lot of attention with their both aesthetic and efficient facade. The solar modules will produce energy for the garage’s lighting, charging posts for electric cars and in addition also generate renewable energy that is sold on the electricity grid.
The facility consists of over 1104 solar panels that will be installed over the entire facade and at corners and ends of the building will be supplemented with blind panels in glass, where placement of active solar glass can not be done. Soltech’s subsidiary Fasadsystem will also be part of the project by manufacturing and delivering frames and frames for the solar panels.
Soltech Sales & Support, operations manager and designer Sara Klingberg comments:
– Our product Soltech Facade is a fantastic solution that creates many opportunities for large facades where both aesthetics and effect are in focus. In the future, we will invest even more in more property developers and architects opening their eyes to the benefits of integrating solar energy into future constructions. Several projects with the product Facade are underway, including at the Swedish pavilion in Dubai during the world exhibition Expo 2020, which will be held in XX month 2021.
Facade is developed to get as much energy as possible into all types of buildings in an efficient and stylish way. Glass facades have been around for a long time, but facades that also produce energy are still unusual. Wallenstam had a vision to connect the future to history in the genuine working environment when the textile artist Viola Gråsten worked for Mölnlycke Fabriker from the middle of the 20th century. She was internationally recognized for her colorful pattern collections and the solar cell façade is now taking over to represent the area’s connection to creative patterns and colorful elements. The construction enables light, air flow and creates a facade that changes in shades of blue, green, orange and terracotta red.
– It feels very nice to build a nice garage that adds extra dynamic look and feel and above all a sustainable focus to Mölnlycke Fabriker as an area. The solar cell façade is an initiative that is completely in line with Wallenstam’s sustainability work, says Marina Fritsche, Deputy CEO of Wallenstam.
