Solar power made Freezing Food a little bit cooler
A turnkey solar plant from Soltech's subsidiary, Swede Energy. This project has meant that Freezing Food has been able to make major financial savings and the company has become greener.
Freezing Foods freezing tunnels can handle 45 tonnes of food per day. This obviously consumes a lot of energy, as much as 2 million kWh per year. In order to reduce its vulnerability to rising electricity prices and reduce its dependence on a tight electricity grid, a decision was made to go with a solar power plant from Swede Energy. This energy source is also supplemented with renewable electricity from the local electricity grid.
