The system consists of a number of key components specially designed to optimize the function, minimizing installation costs and provide superior durability.

The Glass Roof Tile, which is the result of years of research and development at KTH and SolTech Energy, is double bended and consistent with traditional building standards. This means that the system can be installed in accordance with the traditional method at a cost that only slightly exceeds that of a conventional roof. Glass roof tiles have a longer life expectancy than conventional roof tiles of clay or concrete, the glass is UV resistant and has a high resistance to erosion. Preliminary tests show a further positive effect. Since the surface is smooth and some heat is generated from the roof, snow is melted from underneath and slip off. Only a small amount of snow remains on the roof leaving the system ready for generating energy.
The Absorption Fabric is made of technical nylon fibers and double coated with a light absorbing layer. The canvas, which is highly tear and age-resistant, has an extremely good heat transfer capability to the air column.

The Air Columnin the system is built up through beams which are in mounted in a specific an patented way which allows air to circulate evenly across the roof surface. With the system and the way we circulate the air being based on self-circulation through the so-called thermal imbalance, we utilize the entire surface optimally. The thermal imbalance is based in the simple basic principle that hot air rises. In our installations, we help the airflow with a fan to circulate the air.
The Heat Exchanger, which converts the hot air stream to hot liquid, has been developed in cooperation with our supplier. The heat exchanger which we use is the result of the research and development work we carried out over several years along with our experience our installations. The heat exchanger has been designed for optimum functionality with regard to our system.
