SolTech Energy’s solar technologies and products were featured in a segment on renewable energy on South Korean television. The segment was broadcasted nationwide on the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) on January 12, 2011, which is the country’s largest television station.

The segment included detailed interviews with SolTechs CEO Frederic Telander and Business Developer Henrik Båge at the company headquarters in Tullinge, outside Stockholm.

- The showhing on KBS has generated a large interest from both individuals who want to buy SolTech Flex (our newly developed airborne solar collectors for second and holiday homes) and SolTech System (our integrated solar collector system that is also a roof or a wall) and major Korean companies, interested in partnering with SolTech in order to market our products in the Korean Market. This undoubtedly represents a great opportunity for SolTech to quickly and cost efficiently enter the very interesting and growing Korean market, says CEO Frederic Telander in a comment.

- The increasing global interest in energy savings and smart solutions, puts SolTechs producs in a perfect situation! SolTech Energy’s solar energy systems have been awarded this year’s hottest material innovation in 2009. In competition with nine other nominees news presented on the web and in an exhibition at the North Building Fair 2010, has been awarded SolTech Nordbygg gold medal.

“The winning entry combines an attractive design with essential functions for clean and sustainable energy. It is an innovative product that is well in time, “says PhD Bengt Toolanen, Betola Management, Luleå, who is chairman of the competition’s jury.”

“It feels great honor and incentive to get this price. Partly because three well-known and aspiring actors is the founder of the price but also because it is based on a poll of the public who are also our future customers, “says CEO Frederic Telander in a comment”.

Behind the price is Swedish Byggtjänst, North Building and Construction Industry magazine. The medal is now distributed as “Nordbygg gold medal for this year’s hottest material innovation.” The idea is to also be awarded for innovative products in future editions of the North Building.

SolTech Energy has received an order corresponding to 2.8 million from Botkyrka Municipality in respect of a solar energy system generating both thermal heat and electricity. The system to be installed on Malmsjo Public School in Grödinge south of Stockholm consists of two units of 125 and 190 square meters.

- We see this as a real breakthrough for SolTech – to offer and deliver a large-scale system solution to a major customer is a confirmation of SolTech technology and concept, says CEO Frederic Telander in a comment.

By combining SolTechs solar thermal systems with traditional photovoltaics, an efficient hybrid solution that provides both electricity and heat is achieved. The system’s total output is 65 kW, of which 56 kW represents heat-and 9 kW concerns electricity production.

The system’s thermal energy component is integrated with the school’s hot water production. Electricity production will primarily cover the school’s need of electricity, any excess is fed out into the grid. During the summer when school’s operations are down, the thermal heat will be channeled into the school’s energy wells (boreholes for geothermal heat) in order to further increase the efficiency of ground source heat pump system.

- Through the integrated solution with tap water and borehole regeneration, the system will have very small losses and little excess production. All electricity produced will primarily be used at the school, the surplus produced, for example, in summer, will be delivered onto the grid and thereby reduce the school’s need for purchased electricity, continues Frederic.

- We are also pleased to present this large order for the upcoming trading in company’s shares on the Alternativa Stock Market Place on March 17, as well as well prior to Nordbygg 2010, 23-26 March, where we also exhibit concludes Frederic.

The installation of the SolTech System at Malmsjö Public School in Grödinge is to be done during spring 2010.

SolTech Energy Sweden AB (publ) begins trading of shares on the Alternativa market on 17 March 2010.

SolTech Energy develops and sells an air-based solar energy system based on multi-year research at the Royal institute of Technology in Stockholm (KTH). The System is part of a building’s outer shell in the form of a roof and / or a wall of glass and acts both as climate protection, active insulation and solar energy system. We are now pleased to announce that we sold our first system to Norway!

The system is currently being installed on a Pool house in Son, south of Oslo for heating the pool, but will also be linked to a storage tank for heating hot water.

The Pool House is expected to be completed and ready for use in summer 2010.
